I had to comment on the American Idol season finale because Adam was robbed. The entire world knew that Adam should have won, even Kris was shocked. My belief is that the network did not want Adam to win because he is gay and has a bold personality. Therefore, they decided to go with the more wholesome approach Kris. It is a shame, because no other Idol can even compare to Adam's voice. We are not in control of anything - American Idol voting or presidential voting. It's sad.

Those are some profound and radical statements Tryon, but I think American just liked Kris more and he had more votes. Kris was an exceptional singer. Though I also liked Adam, Kris was very good.

You're are just a typical American Beanieman. No offense, but you never question what is going on around you and simply take as a fact what they tell you.

Adam was far superior. I am not sure what America was thinking in making the selection of Kris.

Can't you read what everyone wrote. It was not America that made this selection. It was the production. There is no way America would have picked Kris. Adam led in every poll.

You think the production staff had something to do with the selection? I just can't see that happening.

Not that I feel to enter an American Idol debate on a Fantasy Sports website is okay, but I still feel I need to weigh in. When all said and done, does it really matter? Adam will get a record deal, and probably has one already signed that could be more lucrative than what Idol is offering Kris. He is better, and will be rewarded in the long run. Based on the past, there have been plenty of successful artists from Idol that didn't win.

With that being said, let's get back to sports (and women) as that is all that really matters, now isn't it.

Go Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons, and yes, even the Lions!

Good point giggs, let's get idol out of here. Keep it with sports and women! With that being said, Adam was robbed and as to your comment about a more lucrative offer, all of the contestants must work with the company associated with idol. So Adam already has a deal, he's just not the idol. Anyways, I am sorry you are a Detroit fan. I see 0 and 32 for Matty Stafford and crew this year.

I know I am optimistic every year, but I am predicting the playoffs for the Lions. Oh wait, that was Kevin Smith and his big mouth. My actual prediction is a 4 or 5 win season. We have a revamped linebacker group that should have enough influence on the rest to play with a little heart. That plus the new coach should get things going. Stafford better not play a snap this year, unless they are blow out games. Let Culpepper get pounded this year and draft on the offensive line next year.

As for being a Detroit fan...I was born and raised there, and will stay loyal to the day I die. At least I am not a band wagon fan and stay true to my home team, regardless of record. Would be easy to be like everyone else and claim themselves to be a die hard Pats fan!

Comon giggs, that is just silly. 4 or 5 would be a big improvement but still a disappointment. I see it as 0-32. I do like the fact that you are loyal to your team and not the bandwagon type like so many others.

Unfortunately the talent will never be with the lions to make the playoffs in my lifetime. It is a sad and unfortunate things but I repeart the Lions will not make the playoffs within the next 50 years.

What a stupid and naive statement. Eventually it will get turned around. Who would have thought the Cardinals would ever make it to a Superbowl? Just because we have sucked for the past 15 seasons or so doesn't negate the fact that we did make the playoffs a few times when Barry was there with us. To say that we cannot make the playoffs in the next 50 years is just ridiculous.

Giggs you bring up some good points. Barry is arguably the best back to ever play in the NFL. I hope they do turn around in Detroit, what do you think it will take?

Some major overhauls in the Big D then. Stafford is going to take at least 5 years to mature into a good quarterback especially because he is going to have little help around him. They need a running game, they have decent receivers but their o-line and defense have too many holes. Stafford is going to have a bad year, I just hope they give him some time because it won't all be his fault.

It has to start with the defense, and I already think it has. We signed Peterson from the Seahawks, and Larry Foote from the Steelers...both pretty decent LB's. That to go along with Ernie Sims has the experts saying that we have a top 10 linebacking crew. We also brought in Anthony Henry and Phillip Buchannan as two new DB's. All of these are upgrades. That plus bringing in the defensive coordinator from the Titans, now our head coach, should help in changing the defensive mentality.

I think people are stupid to say Stafford should start right away. I will be mad if he sees a snap before halfway through the season. Mark my words, and don't laugh, but we will see top 15 numbers this season from Culpepper. He lost 30 pounds in the offseason and is ready to show his career is not over. He might still fumble, but he will be good enough to start and keep Stafford on the bench.

My realistic prediction for the season: 6-10

You are right there are a few upgrades but were talking about a team that went 0-16. I believe that was the first time in the history of the NFL. That's not easy to do among professionals. 6-10 is extremely optimistic but your optimism is good as it shows your passion for the Detroit teams. I hope for you the Lions achieve 6 wins, but quite frankly can't see that happening.
