Tips in Reading the Weekly NBA Schedule for Fantasy Basketball Success

Tips in Reading the Weekly NBA Schedule

The 82-game regular season schedule of the NBA is no joke. It's a very tiring schedule that can easily breakdown players especially those who did not prepare for the upcoming games. For that reason, injuries are taken seriously by many teams. A key player missing two weeks of the regular season could destroy the chances of the team to make it to the playoffs.

But for fantasy players, adjusting the players according to the weekly schedule is essential for success. Many fantasy players can plot out their roster for the upcoming week. This means they just need to adjust their roster once in every seven days and simply make any changes if there are any drastic changes in the roster.

You can also have this ease of adjustment with the NBA fantasy league if you closely monitor the upcoming games of your fantasy players. The following are factors that can contribute to the success or failure of your fantasy team:

• Upcoming schedule - the maximum number of games per week in the NBA is four games. Don't think that the team will mostly have home games because of this hectic schedule. There are teams who will have one home game and three away games for the week - or even worst. As of this writing, the New Jersey Nets will have four games on the road. It's a tight schedule that requires constant traveling with little preparation.

• Team Opponents - You have to admit, there are teams in the NBA that will never fare well against the premier teams in the NBA. Teams that will be constantly facing tough challenges in the week will most likely decrease in their output. Some will not consider the psychological effect of a loss but NBA players still lingers on the experience of their previous loss and upcoming tough games.

• In Team Injuries - aside from taking note on the injuries of your players in the fantasy roster, it's also important to take note of injuries of other players. Take note of the injuries of the teammates of your fantasy player because it will contribute to the success or failure of your player. For example, an injured starting center will most likely highlight your power forward's ability to rebound. On the hand, there are situations wherein the overall team output will decrease. An injured point guard who can provide a good output in assists will affect the team’s points in the game.

These are the factors that should be noted when scheduling your roster for the week. Aside from the player injury, changes on your roster can be done in a weekly basis. Simply research on every team that you have in your fantasy roster especially on the schedule and current injuries the team has to endure. An 82-game schedule can be difficult to handle even for the fantasy player but you don't have to be limited on the daily schedule. Look forward, anticipate the challenges and adjust to get the most points in every game.
