Fantasy players have to consider everything that's happening in the NFL so that they can have an educated guess on who to pick for the game day. It's impossible to predict the outcome of the game or the performance of the player but there are factors around the league that can contribute to the success or failure.

One of the factors that should be considered by every fantasy player is the weather. Fortunately, extensive weather analysis exists wherein information about rain and storm are almost accurate. Websites dedicated to weather forecast can predict the chances of rain in a particular time of the day. This means the weather on game day can be predicted.
Before making your decisions based on the weather, take note that there are two types of football stadiums: with and without covered dome. If the team frequently plays in a covered dome, there is a chance they will have some trouble dealing with the weather. A good example is the New England Patriots who can effectively play in various conditions because they do not have a dome. Tom Brady aside, they can easily go through rain with little challenges.
Another factor that any fantasy player should consider is the weather a few hours before game time. As already indicated, weather forecasts can be very specific as they can tell if there will be rain in the morning or in the afternoon. This is a very special situation since the weather before can have significant effect on the game more than the weather during the game. It's a little bit challenging to determine if the dome closes during rain and intense weather conditions but you can expect that rain before game time will be a factor.
The weather can actually affect the game since mud, water and other weather related changes on the field can be a factor in the game. The plays can change which means the stats of one player can change because he will not be used extensively during the game.
The long passes can be affected by the weather but not much. Instead of an intense passing game, the plays will be short passes. Completion rate will still be the same but average yards will be shortened. This is done by teams to ensure they will still gain yards without being affected too much by the weather.
On the other hand, teams and players concentrating on running backs will have a hard time because of the weather. This is especially true if the field is muddy or really wet. Either way, the running back will have to face another defender: the ground. Expect the average yards of the RB to reduce since the factors that will reduce his yards per carry have increased.
Before you make your pick on the game day; research a little bit on the weather. It's a factor that can drastically change the outcome of the game as it will affect virtually anyone in the field.

You must take weather into account when making your selections. This is imperative if you are to win.

Weather and Daily fantasy baseball can be the most disastrous because the entire game can be canceled and you loose the points from all players in that event, whereas in Football they will play the game anyway.
