Daily Fantasy Football: Ranking the Top 4 Positions to Secure Before Playoffs

Ranking the Top 4 Positions to Secure Before Playoffs

NFL Playoffs is coming and the clear winners and losers have already been drawn out. Colts and the Saints are riding in their winning ways while other teams are simply gunning for the available position left by these teams. Fantasy players have already established their preferred players and they can say they are in for a winning or losing season.

But the smell of the playoffs is slowly bringing drastic changes to some teams. Playoffs is not just a regular season wherein you get to live another day if you lose. It's always a "win or go home" for the NFL which means they have to bring their best in the game. Because of this situation, teams are looking to some of the key players that can help them win.

The following are the top 4 positions that will most likely have great impact on the upcoming playoffs and the final games of the regular season:

Number 5: Kickers and Special Teams

Call them the wild card but the remaining games in the regular season will push some teams to improve their defense. Scoring in the red zone will increasingly become difficult. This means the kickers will ultimately have their day in the final games and the playoffs.

Number 4: Defense

We are always thrilled when we see QBs make impressive passes and wide receivers making great catches. But playoffs and the final games in the regular season is all about defense. You may have noticed that the Colts are very good not because they have Manning but their defense is among the best in the team. This is also the same with the Saints. Just look at the way they destroyed Pats last week. Defense will definitely win games and will greatly contribute for fantasy players.

Number 3: Wide Receivers

WRs will still have a great role in playoffs. Some of the most memorable plays in the history of NFL were made by WRs as they dive for the ball while running full speed or simply extend their body just to reach for the ball. However, they could be greatly limited simply because the defense will be there.

Number 2: Quarterback

The manager in the field will be scrutinized and praised at the same time in every play. He will be calling the plays and his hands will determine if the wide receiver will catch the ball. The good QBs are rewarded and even feared because of their ability to destroy defense while the bad ones are simply ridiculed. But even with their role in the team, their importance in winning the game could be hampered by some key players: the running back.

Number 1: Running Backs

You may disagree with this ranking but its undeniable how RBs have taken a very vital backstage role in winning games. They do not always provide replay-worthy plays but they slowly chip the yards that will allow QBs to destroy the defense. Choose a great running back for the playoffs and you can be assured that your team will provide impressive stats for the fantasy team.
